Education Coordinator / ESC Coordinator
Job details:
Working hours: 15 hours / week
Salary: 9000 SEK (gross) / month
Location: Suderbyn Ecovillage, Gotland, Sweden (no remote work allowed)
Context:
The Education coordinator works together with other RELEARN Suderbyn staff and dedicated Suderbyn volunteers in order to fulfill the ESC funding requirements, increase capacity for running better ESC projects and maintain a high quality experience for all the involved actors (i.e. participants, partner organisations and the community).
The Education Coordinator will be part of the Suderbyn community, which includes not only employees and volunteers, but other permanent residents.
As the NGO RELEARN Suderbyn is recruiting, its RELEARN Council has the ultimate employer responsibility. This position collaborates closely with the Administrative Coordinator, the Infrastructure Coordinator, the Garden Coordinator and the Payment Officers.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Administrative responsibilities:
- Writing ESC project applications and reporting finalised projects.
- Preparing and archiving documents in accordance with funding regulations. (e.g. volunteering agreements, youthpasses, agreements with partner organisations, receipts, participant lists, etc.).
- Updating participants’ information on the EU platform.
- Following and monitoring closely the project budget.
- Mentorship system responsibilities
- Ensuring that the volunteers have mentors assigned.
- Overseeing and coordinating the mentorship system, arranging feedback sessions with mentors and ESC volunteers, processing the feedback and implementing possible solutions into the daily agenda/planning.
- Capacity building responsibilities
- Conducting periodic analysis of the performance of ESC projects.
- Facilitating the implementation of a strategy to improve RELEARN Suderbyn’s capacity to implement ESC projects and to increase overall project quality.
- Group cohesion and empowerment responsibilities
- Bringing inspiring learning and bonding initiatives, to help volunteers integrate into the richness of the program.
- Proposing activities to monitor learnings of the volunteers
Requirements and qualifications:
- Legally allowed to work in Sweden.
- Willing to live in Suderbyn and participating in its activities. The Education Coordinator is expected to contribute to the community outside of “traditional” work (i.e. cooking, cleaning, communal working days etc.)
- Previous experience with the ESC program (e.g. as a volunteer or coordinator) is a definite plus.
- Proactive and responsible attitude.
- Ability to work in an English speaking environment.
- Social skills and pedagogical competence.
- Ability to respond quickly to unexpected changes and manage risk.
